why the deformation?

Hi… me again! jeeze I seem to spend all my time asking questiuons and no time sculpting!

so have a look at the image, my question is this, why when I sculpt with tools like claytubes does a cavity appear on the oposite corresponding area of the tool? and can I stop it happening.

the one in the image was a cube 3d, I deformed it in the deformations pallet to make something I could sculpt a blade from, but now I cant use it for anything :frowning: I was sculpting with claytubes.

thanks in advance

In the Brush palette, turn on Backface Masking.

simple as that then! thanks… its fun being a newbie

And more general… don’t forget the power of masking! And don’t forget the fact that you can HIDE masked geometry.

Happy deforming
