Why does my tool disappear with perspective distortion? (2.5d)

I’m running into a peculiar issue. When I have a tool selected in 2.5 mode, not edit mode, and I attempt to click “Perspective Distortion”, the tool disappears. I’d love to retain some embellished perspective on a few layers, and still have the same position/rotation capabilities that the 2.5d canvas and markers afford. if I’m going to keep perspective on a tool, do I have to give up the ability to make a marker? or is something strange happening that shouldn’t be?

I hope that makes sense. I can elaborate or show screencaps if need be. Thanks in advance

Are you using layers in the top menus? You have the ability to shift left, right and in/out of the canvas.

Thanks for the response. I am using layers in the top menus, and I’ve learned how to shift left/right, and forward/back. Since I posted that question, I think I’ve grasped the concept a little better. You can drop a tool with or without perspective distortion, but it doesn’t look like you can enable perspective distortion on a tool you’ve already dropped. I need to work with things more to understand the proper workflow, but it seems to me that this is how it works. Thanks again for the attention to my issue

When you drop something to 2.5D, it’s no longer a 3d tool with several sides. Instead it’s just a bunch of pixels with added depth and material information, so certain things you wouldn’t be able to do. I imagine perspective would mean you’d be able to see certain sides of the tool, but because they cease to exist as pixols…
