Where is Sketch Mode for ZSpheres?

Hi,

in the 1st ZSphere tutorial, the teacher says to hit shift-A to get to Sketch Mode after creating a ZSphere…it doesn’t work and I don’t see an icon or button for Sketch Mode.

If I hit the Sketch button, the Zshpere disappears.

Searched the forum, the Ref pdf, and Practical pdf, and there is no Sketch Mode listed(?)

:frowning:

ZSketch is a sub-function of zspheres and is only available when you have a ZSphere tool/subtool selected.

If you are currently running ZBrush 3.5R3 then:

  1. Select a ZSphere tool from the tool palette, draw it on the canvas and enter edit mode (shortcut ‘t’).

  2. Press Shift + ‘a’ or Tool > ZSketch > Edit Sketch.

  3. Draw on the zsphere to add zsketch spheres.

  4. Exit ZSketch mode by pressing Shift + ‘a’ or Tool > ZSketch > Edit Sketch.

While in zsketch mode you have access to the zsketch brushes in the brush palette. Some brushes only allow you to draw on the existing zsphere or background subtool structure while others allow you to draw anywhere.

Hope that helps.

Thanks, Mark!

I didn’t realize he was already in Edit mode.

Just beginning to explore the gui…lots to learn.
