Where are the rendered images located?

Hello again from a ZBrush newbie:

I’ve searched for quite a while to find the answer to my question and it’s probably here in the forum somewhere but I just can’t find it.

So here goes:

After I press the Render button, where on my HD can I find the rendered image of my model?

For such an awesome program, I have noticed that ZBrush has some extremely non-intuitive things going for what seems like such an obvious process.

Anyways, any help would be much appreciated so thank you in advance!

the Render button doesn’t save an image anywhere on you’re Hard Drive (it just renders your viewport with the chosen render options), to save the render you must go to Document > Export > and choose the desired file location and file type to save as.

Thank you so much for your reply, invertedNormal! I really appreciate your help!

Sheesh! See what I mean about non-intuative?

you’re welcome

however, i can’t think of any imaging software that automatically saves a rendered image for you… that would be rather presumptuous of it… lol! i personally think zBrush is very intuitive. watch some tutorials by Meats Meier and others and you’ll catch on in a day.

p.s. you don’t even have to “Render” your scene to export it as a file, because all modes, including the default Preview mode are Renders–if you like the way it looks by default, just export the Document

Ah! Thanks for the tip, Brian!
