Where are all the ztl files?

Looking around this forum and across the net I can find very few (any?) ztl files to play with. Does anyone have ideas why this is so?

When you consider other packages there are plenty of third party offerings but none for Zbrush. I can see that there are many talented artists both enthusiast and commercial who use this software. Perhaps it has something to do with the amount of effort required to produce a piece of work?

Maybe it is because the mind set of users is the finished image rather than the 3d data behind it. I think users may be missing an opportunity to profit from there work by holding onto 3d data.

I think some of it might have to do with most of the models that are good and worth looking at are fairly complex with a lot of sub d levels and therefore tend to be larger in file size. www.zbrush.com has a lot of sample models and zb3 also ships with a lot of sample models.

ZBrush is all about creativity and inventiveness. When a typical ZB user wants a particular type of model, their first thought is ‘how do I make it?’ The idea of going shopping for one just wouldn’t enter their head.

Consider importing .OBJ files. There are MILLIONS on the web. Zbrush can read those. .ZTL is the internal proprietary ZBrush format. .OBJ is your best bet for a general exchange format across many applications.
