know this might seem a strange question but when did you move over to the darkside so to speak. me being only 1 month into zbrush madness its taking over my life get shouted at now for staying on the computer too long. :lol:
so much to learn so little time.
about 2 seconds after I first tried it out.
The moment I painted a stroke on the canvas, I knew I got something revolutionary and better then photoshop, I realized its 3d part much later… 
since i saw other peoples work using it, and thought? huh? what? no fair their cheating! I must learn this!!! now!!!
soon as I joined this forum…Dec 2001…and realized immediately the potentional for this prog. Everyone other than the z-heads called zbrush no more than a toy…I questioned that severely…questioned why the movie industry wasn’t using it…“the interface is hard to get around…it’s not a real 3d program…blah blah blah…”…a few years later and I am sitting here laughing constantly at purists of that time that were outside and against z… (I think truly they were Z-brush closet cases) They have since had a huge coming out party…especially since Return of the King…lotr …and some others…
Personally…soon as I saw the other talented people on the forum producing very kewl stuff…and also realizing it could be used to enhance other images…and then putting my first 3d sphere on the canvas and pokin’ two eyes in it…the rest is history and I havent slept right, seriously, in over 6 years now…

) *that is just my own personal theory…
I heard about zbrush when I was 19 (I’m 23 in August) and tried out the demo. About 3 minutes in I fell in love with it. I pestered my dad constantly for about 4 months till he finally broke down and bought me it for my 21st. He was skint for a while, but it got me through my Honours year at Abertay Uni and helped me get a first. I have to say ZBrush is THE best investment of my life. And to think all that money could have been spent on jim beam or jd and one stinkin hangover.
Obviously the fact that you can make photographic quality pix quicker than anything else.
