is it suppose to be painting this way?(first timer)

Looks like your UVs are all messed up.

In the Stroke palette, set Flow to 0.

Your UVs are overlapping or not set up properly.

Check this out:
http://www.pixologic.com/docs/index.php/Tool:Texture_Subpalette

Basically, go to texture subpalette under tools and hit UV check. If your model is all red, then you have overlapping UVs.

Hit AUVTiles if you’re keeping it in ZB, or GUVTiles if you’re taking it to another application (probably not, because if you were you would likely have UV’d it in that or another program better suited for UV’ing).

Then hit UV check again, and it should be all greyed out and there shouldn’t be any red.

How did you get your basemesh? Did you make it or was it Zspheres?

He said he’s polypainting. You don’t need UVs for polypainting.

if changing the stroke settings doesn’t help
use alpha 07 (looks just like spray)

That will give you the effect you’re expecting with just having spray applied

That’s because you are using two colors for painting. Change to a different stroke or colors. Just play around and it will become apparent how things work.

 wow you guys are so helpful…
i have never ever got such an amazing response…

i have changed the flow from 0.25 to 0… (removed the square packets)
and color intensity variance from 0.50 to 0.15…(lowered the secondary color intensity )

thankyou
