I haven’t really gotten into Sculptris or the new ZBrush 4R2. But I was wondering - what is the difference between the two? It looks like they both will manipulate a blob of clay. So why did you make Sculptris? I was wondering if I should even try to learn Sculptris since it looks like it does the same thing as my new ZBrush.
Pixologic did not make sculptris, they bought it and hired the programmer who made it.
If you already own ZBrush there is really no need to learn sculptris.
Sculptris is mainly a promotional tool for zbr.
And sculptris manipulates and dynamically tessalates triangulated mesh while zbr works with quads and does not dynamically change the surface. Unlike what people thought, dynamesh does not add detail to areas you sculpt like in sculptris, it merely resurfaces your mesh to get a more even topology. It’s just a retopology tool to get a sculptable, evenly sized mesh.
Learningto use Sculptirs cant hurt
I startedwith Sculprtis a short while ago and it really changed the way I worknow. Zbrush has so many tools and plug-ins that some times you justget overwhelmed by it all.
Scluptrisis Simple and clean.
