Okay I have been scouring the net for well over two weeks now and I can’t seem to get rid of viewport or performance issues while working with either Maya or 3DS Max with medium res meshes (30k to 60k polygons) . What I want to know is what current driver version of Nvidia is best suited to work on a Quadro FX 3700M. I have read all that I could from the internet about this problem and have not found a good solution
Here are my specs on my computer:
Dell Precision M6400 Notebook
Windows XP 64 bit
Intell Core 2 Extreme CPU Q9300 @ 2.5 Ghz
15.9 GB of RAM
Quadro FX 3700M 1024 MB
Also I work in dual screen and that maybe the problem with laggy viewports and performance issues as I have read in other forums. I’ve also tried to fiddle around with the Nvidia control panel in the “Manage 3D settings” where it might fix this issue but it did not work for me. I don’t think this affects Zbrush at all since Zbrush depends more on the CPU and RAM where as the newer versions of Maya or 3DS Max depend on GPU for graphics. If anyone out there is willing to share a solution and point me in the right direction I would be more than willing to listen and hear what you have to say. Thanks.
P.S. I’ve installed and reinstalled my OS at least 2 or 3 times and still I get laggy or performance issues.
