Have you checked the Quicklinks section. The link is at the top, right side of the the page.
One method which I have found useful is to 1: carve out the eye sockets, using Zcut. Then, with a smaller brush size, build the interior of the socket back up, using Zadd. Switch back to Zcut, set the size of the brush to about half it’s current size (or smaller, if need be. Cut from one side, across to the other. Then, onto the move tool (keyboard shortcut- W,) while still in EDIT mode. Experiment with the brush size; begin pushing up the top half of the mound (within the eyes’ socket), shaping it. Then pull the bottom half of the mound downward, giving it shape.
Remember, you have multiple undo’s. Use em - I sure do.
2: Another method I have had some success with is to leave the eyesockets cut into the mesh, without eyelids. After the model is completed, and placed on the canvas in it’s final position - and the eyeballs are in place, in their OWN layer (important!), I will add to the areas around the eyes in 2.5D mode.
3: I did read somewhere on the boards that some people have had success creating eyelids using a seperate layer. Start witha shere, edit it with the transform tools until it looks like and eyelid. Position it - later you cn use the blurbrush, intensitybrush, and shadingenhancer brushs to tone down the seam between the head and eyelids. Shadingenhancer and intensity brush will darken an area with the “alt” pressed and held down.
Hope this helps some.
It helps me filament. Thanks for the tips. It is good to know the different approaches taken by various artists.
The ideas are great thanks. One thing I found very usefull was the zoom tool when adding and subing.Split the screen with the top devider so you can still see the whole face in one screen and just one eye in the other.I have tried the seperate sphere for eye lids witch looks good but you get a noticable seem where the head tool meets the eye lid tools unless you use a good bump.Just my thoughts hope they are handy.
Here’s my latest experiment in that realm.
The script is raw, so you’ll need to set your “replay delay” to high, and set your “show actions” to ON.
I was expecting a tut on eyelids! but all I see is:
well:
So where is the tut?
I am a newbie so please be gentle LOL.

There are two ways you can start eyelids. One is an easy way out and exists only in higher subdivisions. For the top eye lid, you mask the lid area and push the eyebrows downward with the move transform. I believe Anh Nguyen does this too.
The lower subdivision way involves moving the verts in relation to the loops that make up the eye sockets, if you created any. Moving verts at low subdivisions is a little more tedious, but the end the results can have better position and fluidity geometry wise.
