Please help me understand the term “TOOL”
So I thought when zbrush calls a object/geometry a tool. It’s because the thing you just created/imported could be used as a brush/tool. My definition of a tool is; you can us “it” to manipulate other things with it.
I was under the impression that zbrush could paint with tools. In maya you can take a model (say a weed) and paint on a surface of a model to populate it with weeds.
The model (weed) has it’s pivot point at the base of the plant with Y up. When you paint on a selected model (say a sphere) the weed always points out as you paint around the surface of the sphere. Giving you a forest of weeds like hair growing out of the sphere.
mesh insert or brush dos not seam to preform like the maya paint tool at all. Do people work this way in zbrush?
