What're the best tablets for ZBrush/digital sculpting?

Hello,

What are the best tablets for using with ZBrush and other digital sculpting? I’ve no idea what makes a good one or a bad one so any help would be greatly appreciated.
I have around £500 to spend (That’s around 750 US Dolloars or 600 Euros, I think). I’m going to be using it to produce professional work (phasing out my hand sculptures as I improve) so I don’t mind stretching further if I need to.

I’ve been learning ZBrush for a short while now and I’m thoroughly enjoying, but sometimes I feel as though I’m fighting against the mouse (especially since I’m used to traditional/hand sculpting).

I’ve done some searches but nothing appeared to be what I was after. I read that some people want pressure sensitivity. Do they all come with this? It sounds important.

Thanks.

P.S Sorry if this is in the wrong forum. I couldn’t really see one that fit with my question.

After even more searching I’ve noticed the Intuos4 seems to appear regularly. Is this good? There’s a Intous 5, is this any better for ZBrush or is it just different?

hi,

i think if you want to buy a tablet, intuos is the only choice

if you want to buy a tablet pc, the samsung slate 7 is the best option; to use it with zbrush i definitely recommend the art dock hotkey plugin http://forum.tabletpcreview.com/samsung/47958-artdock-samsung-series-7-slate.html

finally you could use a tablet with an integrated monitor like the wacom cintiq series

in terms of your budget the intuos a5 might be the best thing to buy

hope this helps, m

Thanks for the reply! Can the Intuos be used on Windows/PC? I have heard of the integrated monitor and they sounded like a really good advantage. Would you say they’re worth the money? I presume you’d need one of the larger screens if it’s integrated into the tablet… Does it suffer on any other front because of the integrated screen?

The Intuos is awesome, and works on Windows.
