I have a 3D model in 3ds max that I am trying to get into zbrush, but I have this strange problem. I go to export, choose .obj and use the zbrush preset. Then I import it as a zbrush tool and place it. It looks fine in 3D mode from above, but looking at it from below it seems like it was imported as a set of planes not a solid 3D object. When I try to subdivide it, it just subdivides the individual planes so the rectangles become ovals and breaks apart the whole model. How do I make zbrush recognize the model as a solid 3d object so I can subdivide it like a model I created in zbrush?
What?
I don’t know how to explain it, so I took a screenshot: http://img845.imageshack.us/img845/5876/helpur.png. The left image is the original model and the right image is the same model after one crtl+d. How do I make it so it subdivides without becoming that mess?
your verts aren’t welded in max.
