Hello everybody Im still kind of new to Zbrush and was wondering if most artists use a tablet and if so what would be a good starter tablet for somebodys first tablet?
One of the Wacom ones - I think they are generally thought of as the best. If you can afford an Intuos then they are the top of the range but I think there are users that use the Bamboo and find it perfectly good. As far as size goes, user’s opinions will vary. If you have to draw with big sweeping strokes then you’ll want a larger tablet. I’ve used both and I’m perfectly happy with my A5. Even an A6 will be better than a mouse. And also graphics tablets are quite robust technology - only the pen has moving parts - so if your budget is really tight you might pick up a second hand one (though research the drivers available for older models first).
ZBrush is really geared up for using a tablet (though it only uses the pressure input, not tilt). The control you get is a different thing altogether, and of course natural if you’re used to drawing with a pen or pencil.
