What is wrong with the ProjectAll function in 3.5?

In version 3.1 it seems that the function was a simple case of pressing the button and it would give a nice clean wrap.

Version 3.5 seems otherwise. I’m getting wierd distortions and no matter how much I fiddle with the dist, pa blur etc. I cant get a clean result.

Any idea what can be causing this?

Haven’t had this problem.

A couple of things to try:

  1. try your projection without “maximum” selected. I think it overrides the PA Dist slider.
  2. Subdivide your target geometry a few times to perhaps improve the details of the point-by-point scan. Go back you lowest level and click “delete higher” after you’re satisfied with the projection.

hey Kerwin,

I tried switching the maximum button on and off but it didnt have much impact. Also when you subdivide it just does the same thing. Its as if there are areas that just dont get affected by the projection.

In 3.1 it would pretty much wrap anything at far ranges with no problem so this is baffeling me :frowning:

ok if I duplicate a body mesh at SD1, add more SD’s then projectall at the highest SD, I get a fairly good result. Stuff like the ears and fingers seem to mess up, fiddled with all possible settings here and no fix for that.

Still dont understand as I would get a perfect result in 3.1 with this same mesh.

My only theory is that it could have something to do with world space size. I need to do more tests.
