what im doing wrong?

Hi all.
I do have a problem that I was able to simplified for this forum. Im obviously missing something, but I can realize what.
Steps are as follows:
I create cube (3.5 thousand faces) on 3D application with UVs, I will import it into Zbrush and create one subd level. I will sculpt some details

Now I want to export displacement map and apply it to the original cube in 3D application.
But it seems that the sculpt is affecting the base mesh as well and in that case the displacement map is not correct. Storing morph target before sculpting doesn’t help. and going into base subdivision and importing the cube again results in this image which is basically what im getting in displacement map

so there must be some step that Im missing. its like I need to lock the base mesh for any sculpt changes
Can you please help?

What you need to do is this:

  1. When you’ve finished sculpting, go to the lowest subdivision level.
  2. Store a Morph Target.
  3. Import your original model.
  4. Generate the displacement and/or normal maps you need without moving subdivision levels.
  5. If you need to return to the higher subdivision levels (for example to generate a texture map from polypaint), be sure to switch the Morph Target first (Tool>Morph Target>Switch).

thank you marcus for reply.
What i was doing was moving the slider after i switched the morph target.

Working now.
