What brushes? :S

I wasnt sure where to post this but I am more looking for a tutorial then posting one.

I am pretty new to zbursh and am struggling to find any brushes that consistently give me nice flat/sharp edges and find my work often ends up being quite “puffy” and inflated.

As an environment artist I am looking to do stone work and want brushes that will chip/flatten off edges and work in chips and damage to stone/pricks/slaps etc.

I just found _orbs thread in the “top row thread” and it look fantastic. Nice hard chiseled edges that really look like rock/stone. This is what I am aiming for!

Any tips on brush’s/tutorials or brushes that would work best would be very useful

Thanks in advance!

I used “hPolish” and “Trim Dynamic” quite often when needing crisp edges. Trim Dynamic is a little bit more organic and follows the form. hPolish cuts along a plane a bit more.

I usually switch my smooth brush to “Smooth Stronger” as well. It’s a smooth plus a bit of polish you can get some nice flattening effects with it.

Hmm… What else? Occasionally I just use the regular Claybrush to build up and then Pinch the edges if I want organic variation between soft and crisp edges. You can also use the Pinch brush or the Dam_standard to rebuild lost edges do to smoothing or whatnot.

Does that help?
