Welding uneven meshes

Hi guys/girls,

Wondering if you could help me with a conumdrum im having.

I built a mesh in 3dsmax then broke it up into section to tak einto zbrush and sculpt, however now i try a merge the together in zbrush theres a big gap between them.

How would i go about welding these up with out losing all my sculpting.

You wil have ot excuse my ignorance this is my frist time using zbrush.

Many thanks for any help in advance

Things i have tried:

Using the subtool master to merge them then export it as an obj and import it using weld or merge.
(This did not work im guessing because of the shear size of the gap between each sub tool)

Ive also tried using a zsphear then going trying to add geomtry
(This works but i lose all the detail becasue i have to lower the division :frowning: which i dont want to do)

My question would be, why did you break it into sections in the first place? Seems kinda uneccesary.

How I would’ve fixed it ( This require that you know how to use the topology tools in ZBrush, and since you’re new to ZBrush, this might not make much sense  ):

First open a zsphere and load the hires mesh. But instead of making a new topology, you can basically load the lowest subdiv of your mesh as the topology, and then just stitch the gap. To maintain the detail from the hires mesh, you use project all.

Sorry could you explain what you just said step by step cause i dont understand what i have to do and where i have to go.

Also well this enable me to modify the mesh once completed?

What I would do is import the original from Max – the version that has not been split up. Append it to your detailed ZBrush model as a SubTool and divide it to have sufficient polygons. Now use Project All to copy the details.

Hey thanks for your reply’s, would this enable me to modify the mesh? So i can add texture to it?

None of the above seem to work you can still see the seem espcially when i start to texure around it :frowning: I guess i will just have to start again.
