Weird Problem When Posing

For the past month I have been working on a Raptor character model for my college assignment. All has gone pretty well but I’m having trouble posing my model.

Before all of this started, I already had my model rigged, but wanted to add a few details here and there, so I edited the high-reS mesh (I followed the ZBrush doc on how to preview a high res mesh using A). Unfortunately when I pressed A again to go back to edit the Zspheres rigging the details hadn’t been applied, and when I pressed A again the model had the details, but there wasn’t any colour.

To try and resolve this I deleted the Zspheres (apart from the main one), edited by model and then reapplied the Zsphere rigging. All went fine, until I got the problem pictured here.

Can someone please tell me what is going on? This is my first work in ZBrush and it’d be a shame to have come so far just for this to happen.

Are you trying to use your zsphere rig to pose your model under rigging with bind mesh?

Yes I am.

Better screen grab would help…More Ui…Screen grab shows transpose line…?
Adaptive skin was made with how many levels?
How many sub division levels do you have and what is the active points count?
Are you using any localized HD geometry?

Afraid I can’t provide another screenshot as my current machine doesn’t have ZBrush, only the one at college does. I don’t know why the transpose line appears, unless I enabled something by mistake.

In regards to your other questions:

  • I don’t know how many levels there are, I’ll have to check.
  • I believe there are a total of four subdivision levels on the regular mesh.
  • I don’t believe I’m using an HD geometry.

I should also mention I built the model in Sculptris and imported it into ZBrush to colour it and add detail, if it helps.
