weird mesh error. Any help?

I’ve been using zbrush 3.1 a lot lately, and while I really like it, I’ve been getting two very annoying errors lately that have been keeping me from completing my projects. The first bug just totally baffles me as to what is going on, but it seems that when I try to rotate or move certain tools or subtools, parts of the mesh seem to not want to move along with the rest. I got a screen shot of what happened to a creature arm when I tried to rotate it…

The part of the mesh in the circle will always seems to be attracted to some point in the middle of the screen regardless of where I move the rest of it. It seems to do this quite often, though sometimes on some meshes it doesn’t do it. Any ideas on what is going on here?

Also, I’ve been getting this ridiculous message every time I try to mirror a tool. I’m sure many of you have run into this before, and I am really surprised why this hasn’t been fixed yet. Here is the message I get when I try to mirror anything:

I get this message even when I completely remove all subdivision levels!! WTF???

Any suggestions or advice would be a great help.

Item one is probably either some accidental masking or a scaling issue. First try using Tool>Masking>Clear. If that doesn’t fix the problem, look at the Tool>Preview. How big is your model relative to that window? If there’s a significant size difference, then scaling your model (with Tool>Deformation>Size) so that it better fits within the Preview window will likely solve the problem.

As for item 2, being unable to mirror an object with multiple subdivision levels is not a bug. The best thing is to delete the lower levels, mirror, then reconstruct subdivision levels. I do not know why deleting the other levels is not letting you mirror. I can’t duplicate that problem with any of the models I’ve tested.
