hi, I started to sculpt this character.
here a sketch
He’s coming along great! I like the details on his clothing.
start polypainting
I’d like to receive some critics to improve my work.

First of all I think that you did a great job so far. He definately looks more like a druid than a wizard or warrior though especially with the earthy colors. Some minor things I noticed that could possibly be changed are that the skin and clothes look a little too smooth. If you added some textureing to it it may look a little more realistic, if thats what you’re going for of course. Also just a little note is that the hands are a completely different color than the head. Besides that the details and the overall theme of the model works great.
@ DrGoodsell : thanks for your reply and critics. it seems a druid? great!!! it was my idea, but I didn’t want to reveal
the final look I want to reach it’s not an iperrealistic look, it is still work in progress so skin and hands have to be finished, I agree for cloth too smooth, I’ll try to work again, maybe creasing them more like the head with sharpen edges. then I need a staff and maybe a sword
now i’m finishing this druid
I’ve a problem, i’m using 3dsmax and vray.
I want to rig it and I’d prefer to collapse as many object as i can but so I don’t know how to use vray displacement. Sure I can use standard displace in every sub material but I think it’s slow and not precise like vray. any ideas?
one way is to collapse subtools in Zbrush, but here another problem. some subtools seems not workink with the merge tool. example if I merge boots with knee-bandage I loose subdivision. boots with pants work fine.i think there something wrong with bandage but it appens even with new bandage specially created

I’ve had some problems with merging in the past as well.
I would try to have the same number of subdivisions on each sub-tool, if you lose the subdivisons you should be able to, reconstruct if they are the same leve in each.
I work on both Mac and PC, I had a student that was trying to merge some subtools together on MAC, but try as we must we couldn’t get it to work as expected. So the work around I used was to create a Z-sphere and append all the subtools to it, then delete the Zsphere.
I guess the other problem could be its too many polys…
hope this helps
here result of my work
