the body and face is great, but the rest of it just isn’t of the same quality, like the skulls and cloth in particular
wow, very good. I could only hope to be that good. i am just curious, how many polies are you at so far? could you please post a wire frame? Looks good man. Keep it up.

adio38: Thanks for the feedback dude…as far as polies go I am afraid to check the count… The base model with all the armour is around 80k…I will be posting the wireframes in the next update…
anyways I have made a whole load of changes…the previous update had a number of things I wasnt happy about…which I have tried to fix. I feel this is how far I can push this model…theres always stuff to improve and I might pose it a bit later with some weapons which I am working on.

WOW!
This is coming out so well .
There is only one observation that might really add to really enhance the history behind the character. If you could add some weathering on the armor and especially some scarring and other surface detailing on the character himself.
Nothing too intense if you’re not into the idea, but it’ll really help establish history for the character.
Can’t wait to see your next update mate!

great job on this guy [just a bit more spec on the skin would make him more alive looking]
He could use a rim light to make him pop more, not directly behind him though. It won’t work since CG lights are strange so a glancing angle from the back will work. The SSS in his ear is a bit too high and it may be washing out some of your normal map details. Are you using a displacement map? That might help with getting that organic look from your zbrush sculpt.
That’s a top row ORC! I do agree with intervain and womball though, he needs some specular highlights on his skin and maybe more lights. I, myself, would love to see him posed in a conan-esque scene hah
Nice solid model and textures. Good work!
Hi Guys,
Thanks for the great feedback
Intervain: Thanks for the crit. always great to get feedback from you.
I will definitely try to improve the specular for this guy.
womball: Thanks dude. I have used some rim lights…maybe the angle is not right. The rim lights have a pretty high intensity which is why the ears are really lit up. I am using only normal maps for the model…displacement maps was really slowing my pc.
aiman: Thanks man. really appreciate it. Will definitely get some lights and specular on the guy.
Bryan Wynia: Thanks man, really appreciate it. Your work is really great.
Dude, for the horde! effin great! How long did this take you to get the basic forms out? This is definitely one of my favorite works.
!!!oh man.I just gotta save these pics.
Beautiful sculpt.
wow!!! great peace of work here! i love this orc, the modeling, textures, details…, congratulations definitely_maybe!
hey guys,
Thanks for all the great feedback.
desmoda: Thanks dude. The whole model took me about a month and a half on on off to complete. The basic forms went pretty quick…the main orc was modelled more or less fully within the first week …the armour and textures took a looong time… I’m glad you liked it.
outerdrake: Thanks man! I’m glad you liked the work.
wolfsoull: Thanks dude. Really appreciate. I’m glad you liked the work.
You could always export out a heavy subdivision mesh, say 150 k. Most engines should be able to handle that. Than a normal map from the high resolution will have even more detail. And I think you can use displacement maps for bump map channel. You could try adding a cavity map there or plug it in the diffuse map. Although I’m sure it will require tweaking.
