Walter White WIP

Hello boys and gals! :smiley:

First post here on ZBC. Thought I’d share my most recent personal project, a bust of Walter White from the TV series Breaking Bad.

The progress of this bust has been pretty fast, but it has come to a halt. I’ve encountered a problem I can’t solve so I thought I’d check with you guys.
I’ve rendered the image with V-ray for Maya and the hairs are Maya hairs guided with fibermesh curves. The thing is, he has eyebrows and eyelashes, but they can’t be seen through the glasses. I’ve ticked the “visible in refractions” in the hair system but to no avail. I would have posted this on the V-ray forum but I’m not allowed to create threads there, so I thought maybe any of you guys had encountered the same problem?

I’m not entirely sure about VRay, but this worked for Mental Ray. Make sure in your Maya PaintFX Hair shape node that “Draw as Mesh” is turned on. It should be located directly under the Display Quality Parameter. Also, in this node and the Hair System Shape Node, under Render Stats, make sure visible in Reflections and Refractions are both turned on.

I love you! The draw as mesh option didn’t do much, but when I was in the node I saw that it had render stats too with the “visible in…” options. Been going through all the nodes related to the hair 100 times and this is the first time I see it, so thanks I guess buddy :smiley:
