Walking With Grampa

Heya!

          I'm a videogame artist who just started trying to do some high-rez sculpting for kicks.
          
          So I started a head study a while ago, trying to break free of a few of my paradigms and various workflows.

Quite a few more changes I need to make (gathered from my postings on other forums, and friends and such):

Major:
Eyes still look too ‘young’

  • Iris is still too large.
  • Iris is too saturated.
  • Splotchier reds and yellows need to be pasted on the eyeball
  • Not enough reflection
  • Darker, less translucent eyelashes
  • Pink bloodier areas around the eye (between the eyeball and eyelashes)
  • Reduce Specular level from the Sun (key light)
  • More Colour bleeding between iris and white of eyes.
  • Needs more Ambient Occlusion on the eyeball.

Clothing is too ‘clean’.

  • Add Edmonton Oilers Logo on cap
  • Add some kind of pattern on the shirt
  • Make clothing dirtier
  • Texture on cap is too ‘perfect’.

Hair:

  • Hair should be gray.
  • More nose hairs
  • Add Ear Hairs
  • Add chest hairs
  • Add stubble everywhere

Neck still looks too ‘Rubbery’

  • Add more Sub Surface Scattering
  • Add stubble
  • Reduce Specular level.

Minor:

  • Add more hair everywhere. More hair on the nose
  • Need to adjust the scattering on the ear (so it blends into the thicker parts of the ear, and tone it down.
  • Possible use of HDR

Lotsa work to do on this. But I’ll have to get around to it after Dominance War.
