same here … ;-(
We’re looking into this for you.
Thanks for your patience.
Me to. Is it a Digital River problem do you think?
Digital River has nothing to do with this upgrade (short of providing you with your order number, if applicable).
The more information that you can provide on the form, the more helpful it will be. Be SURE to give us your Digital River order number if you originally purchased through their shopping cart system or if you ever downloaded an upgrade to Z2 (your upgrade went through the DR system, so will have an order number).
Thanks.
OK. I’ve re submitted with a copy of the actual reciept I got from Digital River. I hope that does the trick as I am suffering severe dehydration from all the drooling over the new features I’m seeing in ZB2.
If (as I suspect) you have this all in hand I appologise for hassaling.
Woohoo, I finally got the email! Thank you!
I’m envious, but happy for you . I’m still waiting
. I’ve submitted 3 times and sent two emails complete with my order number from Element 5.
The fact that you got it does give me hope
EDIT: I just decided to try the receipt thing as well. Maybe that will help.
I can’t say I’m terribly impressed with this new activation system. The artist concerned is running Windows 2000 with Service Pack 4 and all necessary updates - attempting to activate over the Internet results in an error message that it can’t open a browser.
I try to call the phone number listed on the telephone activation page and the office is closed.
Marvellous!
Regards,
Martyn
I submited my info on the release day, and then again three days later,Still awaiting ZB2 , I am sure that it will be worth the wait though.
My upgrade experience so far…
I have 2 licenses of Z Brush (one personal, one business). I purchased them through Digital River during 2002. I have submitted the upgrade form for both a day apart and received the email link message a day or so later. (Still waiting on the second submission.)
I have tried to link up according to the instructions in the email about 10 times with no success. Sometimes I am trasferred to the element 5 website but it says my cart is empty. Several other times, I’m directed to a ubiquitous search webpage. Once, I was directed to the download pages as described in the email, but my web connection was cut while looking for all the correct information.
This whole process is cumbersome at best. I use Rhino 3D extensively and their upgrade process may serve as an example for the future.
I will continue trying to make it through because I know that maybe the problem lies in my net connection or some other issue and not the process described on the email.
I did speak personally to someone at Pixologic and have read some of the newsgroup posts that are less than patient. Both parties seem to be touchy about the whole process.
Patience will see us through.
One the one hand, Pixologic has created one of the most fun and creative pieces of 3d software on the planet - its influence will only grow…however, because its users are enthusiastice about the software, it is frustrating when the download process is problematic for whatever reasons.
In summary:
Be patient and keep a good attitude. We need each other!
Cheers.
Steevo
Happy ending!
I recieved the mail.
Many thanks
Just got mine too. I won’t get any sleep tonight
Thanks Pixologic, and Matt in particular. I know it can’t be easy on you having to deal with we eager beavers.
I’m still waiting for my email. shame it wasn’t some kind of automatic process. I’m hoping to get it before the Easter weekend so i can site down and really learn the package again.
I got mine finally. No problems downloading.
Just a follow-up to my previous post:
I downloaded the software successfully last night. I have now compliled a folder with all the necessary Customer ID numbers, email addresses, Order numbers, notes from my mother, etc.
The problems must have been with my corporate network connection. If at first you don’t succeed, try a new route to download.
I still have not received my second upgrade email from Pixoligic. Still waiting patiently.
Best of Luck,
Steevo
I got my email today for some reason I did not receive the first one they sent. But everything is working fine now. Thank you pixologic
I am really getting frustrated and disillusioned here. My past dealings with Pixologic have been very positive, but I’ve never had such problems obtaining an upgrade to an application, and I’ve upgraded many, including some high end ones.
I originally purchased ZBrush in June 2000 when it made its debut and I have kept up with the upgrades ever since. The original purchase was through a vendor called GetSoftware, which apparently does not exist any longer, so I have no Order Number. I may have gotten an upgrade through Digital River, but since it was an upgrade there was no credit card number involved. And I have a different computer now, and cannot find my Order Number if there was one. Obviously, without a credit card number or an Order Number, I cannot get into Digital River. I have all sorts of Temporary and Permanent Serial Numbers, and various correspondances from Pixologic that show I am a registered user.
Ii’ve sent messages through the WebSite form, and have even tried e-mailing, but it has been a week or more now and I have not heard anything about how I can obtain my upgrade.
I hope posting here will help. I am anxious to try this new version of the program which I’ve enjoyed greatly in the past.
Thank you for your attention.
i’ve ordered on the 30th March and have registered for the upgrade to version 2 twice but have not heard from anyone.
I waited anyway thinking that it may take a week or so but now i’m getting restless after 9 working days. I was hoping to recieve it before Friday but have not heard anything.
Just want to know if i can expect it next week. (or even today wink wink)
anyway looking forward to recieving it .
so will this be the same place for the newer upgrade?
No. We will post information for upgrading to 2.5 in a new thread here at ZBC when the time comes.
I know that you’re anxious to get it, but please stop speculating. Guesses will often be wrong and rumor control is time consuming. We haven’t even announced the release date for 2.5 yet – it’s very early to be worrying about how it will be gotten to you.
Rest assured that when the time comes, you will be provided with all the necessary information. Until that time comes, the information wouldn’t do any good anyway, so why worry about it?
