Wagon cadwallon

Almost done with the Guard!

Nice work! I like the strange proportions :+1:

nice figure work! you have a really nice style.

wow love it! great design and proportions! :+1:

Thanks everyone!

Here is an update. Finishing of the guard and the first dwarf.
Dwarf number two is next.

Well, this one went fast. I was able to re use quite a lot of parts. So it was mostly about reposition parts and make the face expression. This is suppose to be the dwarf on the Ox if you´ve seen the reference.
Moving on to the next!

By the way, I may try to make the beards and the hair better later. It depends on how it looks in render. But for now I leave it as is.

Cheers!

Hi G_arrow i really like your models! congratulation!
The dwarf’s beard is great, can you explain how did you get this result?

can’t wait to see more! :+1:

Thanks Julien n.
Im using mayas paintEffects for the beard. Im Drawing out a few curves to get the right direction of the hairs then applying painteffects to it. Then tweeking the setting for the result I want. Convert to polys, import to zbrush then I do some additional moving around until im happy with it.

This is the way im doing it right now, its a bit tricky to get it right. I would like to have some more intuitive way of doing it. Been trying Maya hair and maya fur as well but im having a hard time getting in to it. Painteffects is so far the easiest way ,for me.

I am still hoping that pixologic will add some sort of hair plugin, that would be awesome! Why not use the zSketch to paint out the direction of the hair, and then like extrude a lot of small tubes along that path? that would be so cool! Full control all the way!
Pixologic! go go , gief hair plugin! :stuck_out_tongue:

Alright, here is the next one. I didnt do anything special about his lower body since it will not be visible in the end anyway.
Hope you like!

Closeup on the faces, and a diffrent matcap.

I’m really curious to see the final composition…

I follow you

thanks for the tips G_Arrow, keep it up! :+1:

these characters are great man!
cheers,
d

Hello again, have been a bit busy working this past week. But now Im back at this project and I hope to finish it soon.

Thanks for your replies guys! And MayaDamien thanks for stopping by, I love your work!

Im pritty much done sculpting the main props and characters. The background, ground, stones and trees are not done but I will get to that when all the characters are posed and in place.

Here is the latest, the dwarf is, like the last dwarf not very detailed in the lower parts, it wont be visible in the final.
And also an update for the caravan, a bit more detailed.

i love the carawan, looks really cool. and the dwarfs beard hair is one thing i really like. great work :+1:

Wow, this one is really coming along nicely :+1:

i lovee it ! so much detail !

Thanks everyone!!

I´ve started to pose every character up now, it was more tricky then I thought it would be. I tried transpose-master and I wanted to export the posemodel to maya , pose it up there then take it back to zbrush and just update the model, but I get funky results, the subtools explodes, I think its a memory problem. So now im posing “manually”.

Anyhow, The first dwarf is posed and decimated. And I did this rendertest/looktest, hope you like it.

Cya soon

This thread shows a lot of potential. It did so since its beginning and Ill surely follow it to see the final image.

I dont know if you need stars but since it doesnt have any yet I`ll give it 5.

Hello

Would it be possible to get one of the tools that you are having an issue with when using Transpose Master?

Happy Holidays.
