I was wondering if bamboo pen tablet is workable in zbrush?
How much would it set me back compared to intuos?
I am asking because even the smallest intuos is very expensive so I was wondering if bamboo would be good enough for a beginner and how much would it allow me to sculpt with zbrush.
Its what I am using now and it works great with zbrush. They are about 70-80$ at best buy.com last time I checked.
Im useing a bamboo and it works fine dont remember the cost but a lot cheaper than an intuos
I also bought a small Bamboo for the same price at Best Buy and it’s very compatible with ZBRush 3.1 and 3.5r3. You can even place it on your lap, lean back in your chair and poly or paint away. Jan
the bamboo tablets work great and are very cheap. they now come with 1024 pressure levels (same as an intous 3). They lack some of the extra stuff…like all of the buttons (I dont use them on my tablet anyway).
The intous 4 models range from 200-500 I think.
The only problem I have with the bamboo tablets are that they are too small for the way I work. I like very long broad strokes when I paint or sculpt. With the smaller tablets I have to make 2-3 strokes for what I can do with 1.
If you’re on a budget though a bamboo is a great investment. They’re rather cheap (around 100 for a bamboo touch 8in I think). If you find you don’t like the tablet you’re not out a ton of money. If you find you do like the tablet and want to pursue upgrading to the intous4 then you’ll have 2 tablets (great for going back and forth from work/school/etc.
