Visions of War - Orc

Hi guys,

Great works floating around (3.5 is pumping things)

Restarting development on our Warhammer short, slowly, but what can you do.

Here is work on one of the Orc bases.

Modeled in 3dsmax, sculpted in zbrush, textured in photoshop.

This uses displacement and normal maps on top.
The look I was trying to achieve was something between Blizzard
and Simon Bisley.

Rendering done with mental ray and mi fast sss plus+ by Master Zap
and Joans Thornquist (immense thanks to these guys).
Simple setup of one Photometric Area Light and a Skylight with an HDR
image connected to it. Final Gather no GI.

I will be posting the now fully textured Chaos Marine, which has crashing issues, probably due to memory being faulty (electricity I think). Any way new modules installed let’s hope that’s the issue.

The muscles look made up in a lot of places but overall
he has a nice orkish look.
What bugs me the most is the hands.
It looks as if the fingernails grow out of the second joint making the
fingers look very unrealistic and too short.
You should maybe consider reworking them.

I think there is something to do with the knee too. It looks like a muscle not a bone…

I think you totally nailed it, no crits from me! (only, cloths make the orc, I dont feel the sexyness level your trying to bring across :P)
