virtual memory maxxed out

brand new computer, running win7 6 gb ram. opened previously created subtool and getting error"zbrush virtual memory file has reached maximum size"
How do I change this size limit or clear cache?

also getting error screen " out of disk space. virtual mem file cant be used until more disk space is made avail…

Am constantly getting these errors now

How much space is open to Zbrush on your HDD?
Have you changed your memory settings in the preferences?

Go

[Preferences] >> [Mem]

and dail up the Compact Mem and the MaxPolyPerMesh values.

In this same section decrease your Tool and Doc undo’s if necessary.

While we are on this topic. Does anybody know of any other methods to increase the workspace speed in zbrush?
Maybe turning off memory intensive UI features?

I don’t like the fact that i have to break up my hi-res sculpts to work on my sub tools in individual documents.

Any methods/information that helps increase the amount of memory available for optimum workspace functionality will be grateful.

Thanks

there is some useful information on this page that might help

I changed the values as you’ve suggested, I set them to max for compact mem and MPPM. I’m still getting an “out of disk space. virtual mem file cant be used until more disk space is made available.” Compact mem is now at 4096 and poly per mesh @ 50, doc undo and tool undo set @4.
Not doing anything major here either. I Opened the demo head and did a low 16 res remesh on it to get the error this time. Is there some other settings that may need changed, any ideas?
Thank you

Maybe that helps

Very helpful, thanks, lots of good info. I wondered where windows was hiding all those settings
