Looks very sweat mate! Great character and the effort was worth it
Looking forward seeing more from you.
Cheers,

there we have the typical designer. Your skill is great but you artistic knowledge is bad.

Odin* not Ohdin. The second thing is that His weapon looks more like a Hammer which is called Mjlnir.

A little excurse in nordic religion.

Loki, a little mean tard among all the gods thought he could do sth very funny and shaved the golden hairs of Tors wife. Tor got enrage and threatened Loki with death. As excuse he had to bring her new hairs. even better than her old and a very good excuse in form of presents. So he went to the dwarfes.

The dwarfes known as the best smiths in world made him new hairs but he also challanged the dwars without they noticed to make the best presents for the gods.
In short: he did not only get the hairs he had to get but also weapons and some other cool presents.

Among the weapons there was a hammer for Tor and a spear for odin. Besides I can explain why nordic hammers look very short. Loki as he always has to be a little tard, changed into a fly and attacked teh dwarf who was occupied with the hammer. The dwarf forgot to heat the fire because he was punching away the fly, so the shaft of the hammer broke. The rest was OK though only the shaft became shortened.

Tor’s hammer always returned when thrown like a boomerang.
And Odens spear always hit the target like a seekermissl.

You did not do Odin here you did Tor. That’s quite a fail. No offence though. But this is just showing ignorance.
Never the less is your picture very well done. At least the undead.
“Ohdin” looks more like a common wannabeviking conept. Not as spectacioulos as the other guy. Hope you never do the same mistake again
A good artist always has a good background knowledge.

Great looking models. Very nice work.
I’m always reluctant to start with the low poly stuff after making a model to the point where I rarely ever even bother starting but you manage to get great detail while the low poly model appears relatively simple. Always surprised by that.

also … MaxPeterson:

Odens

Odin’s

Mjlnir.

Mjölnir

Tors wife.

Thor’s

dwarfes

dwarves

without they noticed

without them noticing

seekermissl

seeker missile

That’s quite a fail. No offence though. But this is just showing ignorance.

Hope you never make that mistake again.

thx for wasting this nice thread with your helperinstict-driven spam, which had to 99% the only target to attack me without bringing constructive critique. respect the artist please and don’t troll others threads with starting fights:

maybe u didnt get my constructive critique:

Replace the hammer with an spear. then replace the helmet with a wing helmet like asterix has and we are fine. Or call him Tor.

Your character looks more like Odin but yes the hammer is totally wrong. Drop the name and just call him Ragnar or some such and everyone will know it’s your made up character with Norse influences. Mythological beings are shared public knowledge kinda like comic book characters - when you get major details mixed up people are gona cry foul. You wouldn’t arm a character with a green ring or a silver surfboard and call him Bhatman now would you?

It’s a shame to get distracted from your excellent modeling and texturing.

No Odin was not the owner of the hammer.
It was Loki first who gave it as a present to Tor.

As you posted the picture you see how Odin is looking like:

And NOT however you call him. Respect the names of history or history will not respect you.
As less as you call Superman like Supaman or Sufferman you can’t call Odin Ohdin or sth else. It does look arkward, More educated people might think that you never visited history classes XD.

It just shows that you kinda disrespect your own art and you are distracting people from it. That’s really a shame because your stuff is not bad.
Mythology is art from hundreds of years ago, which deserves respect and beeing aknowledged?

but lets drop it now. I gave you the constructive critique. if you thought about launching the picture to the public make sure you fixed names and details. among artists this is excuseable. this is a room to learn (even about history XD)

These characters are own style, sorry if you dont like or unaccept about ODHIN with this hammer, so you said “ohdin” and i think you dont know the history :). If you see good, you will see the wolf as belt and the raven in shoulder and thats explains about odin. anyway its just Art and a lot fun to make, somebodys make how wants hehe.
Cheers!
Carlos

if you say it’s just art and the msot important fact is fun… maybe then try to cover a character built from a popular game do minor changes and say “its my own”. Sorry Polterizer but you are wrong. Totally wrong. You sound like a kid to be honest.

LOL, i dont care your words, maybe didnt see the “style” ?, yes its just art and calm down and make some art instead a bad write
peace!

I like the work you’ve done on this. Nice job. & Like all the rest. I would love to see more of your work. inspire me. & throw me some idea’s. I love all the greek & roman methology.
I’m a world of warcraft nut. & been workin on a couple of my toons. 1 is of my old pally & the other is just an orc i created in the game to get an idea of what an orc looks like &
the right features. Again. Awsume work on the reaper… I know my work still needs lots & tons of more practice. But still, for a newbie. I dont think im doing to bad…
