Hi everyone,
I have been working on a single project for more than two years now : VERTEBRATES.
https://laetoli-production.fr/vertebrates
The idea is to scan specimens from museums and labs one bone at a time, reassemble all the pieces in anatomical connexion and make all the specimens available for everyone in a dedicated app.
ZBrush is a cornerstone of my workflow as it can seamlessly handle millions of polygons. I use it for cleaning-up the raw scanned models, remesh them with variable polygon density according to the areas of interest, automatically uv the less intricate bones, and make texture corrections when necessary. Additional uv-mapping and specimens reassembling are done in Maya.
So far I have gone through 12 specimens ( see below ) and a lot more are to come !
The app, which is built for anatomical comparison, is aimed at teachers, researchers, students and artists.
The good news is that the app is FREE for anyone by simply registering, so please try it and let me know what you think …

A 30-week-old human fetus from Archéologie Alsace collection.

VERTEBRATES is produced by Laetoli Production in partnership with Archimede Laboratory UMR 7044 and Archéologie Alsace.
