vector shape

This is a vector shape made from a closed curve (a jpg of a Xara vector file for illustration purposes in this post). I want to use intricate versions of such vector shapes so they are editable in ZBrush. The vector program has a bunch of export file types. What format, if any, do I export in so that I can get an editable mesh in ZBrush? I will need to do intricate embossing on the shape, curl it, etc…

Thanks.

I’d say .psd, that’s the file format that you can use in ZB for alpha’s

so, do you mean that I could create a plane in ZB, subdivide it pretty high then use an alpha created with the vector shape to cut out the shape from the plane?

Hi all.

I’m trying to do something similiar. It does seem that the psd method is the way to go because from my understanding one can use vectors as masks in a layer of Photoshop (with your 3d object via zBrush and zApplink or just importing the object directly in Photoshop). Control of the vector art is what I’m after here. It would be nice if someone would chime in on this methodology (being able to “pick up” or “re-edit” the vector mask in Photoshop on a ZappLink mesh or an imported 3d object).

Anyone?
