While I am able to successfully create custom vector brushes, the result draws inverted and I must use the alt key to draw properly.

Start with Brush 3DTemplate with levels of Subd.

Make square selection, make new polygroup.

Create dimensional mesh for brush.

Select center polygroup with brush mesh and ctrl click for mask.

Make full mesh visible and invert mask.

Ctrl click on full plane to blur mask.

Invert to mask brush mesh

In Deformation, use Morph to grid to flatten edges.

Unmask
-
Choose chisel brush and clone.

Enable From mesh to create vector brush.

Set brush to Drag rectangle and draw on mesh.
It draws inverted. If I use alt to draw, it draws correctly.
So what have I done incorrectly, please.
