vanishing UVs

I’m working on a job where I need to create a monster out of pieces of trash. I’m modeling the “trash” in Lightwave complete with UV maps and using the insert brush in zbrush to add the trash to the body of the monster. I was hoping to take the geometry back into Lightwave and texture the trash using the UVs, but when I bring the geometry back into lightwave the UVs are gone. The UVs seem to be disappearing sometime during the insert brush application.

ANY help would be greatly appreciated!

For some reason (and I don’t have the time to research it) starting with the “InsertNose” brush, instead of the other Insert* brushes, retained the correct UVs in my imported geometry.

So there you go.

The InsertDot brush adds the inserted geometry based on the surface normals of the current tool, but is losing the UV information in the inserted geometry. The InsertNose brush retains the correct UV information, but adds the inserted geometry all at the same angle based on the inserted tool’s preview. I’ve lined up screen shots of the 2 Insert brushes’ settings and can’t find a difference. Where can I learn more about customizing these brushes to create one brush that does everything that I need???
