This is my first post to Zbrush central. I am a student at the Savannah College of art and design and here are some of my works.
Lovely work, I particularly like your anatomy knowledge, great creature designs, cheers
really cool! I like it a lot!
So I got my demon 3D printed. Here are the results after some minor sanding. This is about 8 inches tall and was printed through shapeways in the frosted detail plastic. The print has been sanded very lightly with 600 grit and spray primed.
I Love this
I made a few time lapse videos of the mold making process.

Here is the finished resin cast. I have more photos here and I will also be selling a limited number of them. https://squareup.com/market/van-logan-franklin/nightmare
I’m working on a collaborative piece with a blacksmith friend of mine. I’m designing a few torc heads and he is going to cast them in bronze and and make the twisted wire for the torc.

While I’m waiting for things back from the printer I started working on a life-size forearm and hand anatomy study. Its still rough now but I’d figure I would give you guys a peek at what I am up to.
I just got my torc heads back from the printer today.
Very nice! Is that a powder-based SLS output? Is the dark color native to the material? And does the model you are holding reflect any post processing by your, or is that as it came out of the printer? We are working thru a number of tests on SLS and SLA machines – love the Objet, but have had some nice stuff done in the powders, too…
Thank you rcgauer. It was printed in the frosted detail plastic from Shapeways. https://www.shapeways.com/materials/frosted-detail-plastic The material was translucent white when I received it. I have not yet done any sanding, I have applied a very thin coat of primer so the form is easier to see.
Have you tried the Cubify Accutough?

Gives really good detail and has a bigger build volume … although we’re trying just about everything we can to get a feel for the level of detail preserved… Here’s part of our growing mammoth herd:
Trying to put together the money for an Objet… but you can buy a lot of service bureau work for $25K.
I haven’t tried Cubify. I would love to see some detail photos of your mammoths to get an idea of the surface.
