Hi, I am looking to buy ZBrush and I was wondering if you can create UV’s in ZBrush that will be editable in Photoshop?
If not can anyone recommend a good (cheap) mac app for creating UV maps?
Mac OSX
Thanks

You can create UVs in Blender (www.blender.org).
Its open source available for Mac, Windows, Linux.
2.49a is the latest version but coming soon is version 2.5 with a significantly updated user interface, which currently is a bit odd but get over that and it has advanced UV creation and editing. Use objs to move models between zbrush and blender.

Thanks Richard, yes Blender is great… Unfortunately I have yet to learn it, but hope to soon. In the mean time I was hoping to find a simple UV unwrapping app to unwrap my models for ZBrush so if someone can recommend an good but inexpensive one for mac that would be helpful.
Also, I guess ZBrush doesn’t allow their UV maps to be edited in Photoshop does it? I really hope ZBrush will add a UV editor to ZBrush soon or does it already have this?
I would still recommend blender. If you just want to UV unwrap you can forget about most of the functionality.
Import obj, select seams, U to unwrap. Adjust in UV image editor, export obj.

That sounds pretty simple. I might have to give that a try. Thanks Richard!
