UVs after polypainting on no UVs?

I am wondering if we have to polypaint after we create UVs?
If the model has zero UV maps… and then we poly paint on the model, is there any way to get the polypaint color data to a texture?

May sound simple… but i have a problem with this.
I paint my model, then when I go to make UVs, say… i press AUVs button, my polypaint data dissapears.

Do I have to have had made UVs before I polypainted?
or is there a workaround where I can salvage that polypaint info I already spend lots of time on?

I’m using 3.5r.

ZBrush won’t delete your polypaint when you creating UVs, probably what you mean is after creating new texture isit?..Actually its not gone, it just wrap your mesh with a new blank texture, that’s why you cant see your polypaint, you can turn off the texture and can see your polypaint back again!

With that said, what you have to do next is just…well, press the [New From Polypaint] button in the tool palette to transfer it! (*I know, Pixologic team has make our live so much easy by providing a button click to do complicated stuff lol)

heheh aaack i was trying that and wasn’t working… that’s what i always do
but i rebooted and did it.

i was getting some weird artifact stuff on UVMaster the yesterday too
