UVMaster issue

Hey guys, I’m trying to use UVMaster to create my uvs but when I unwrap, it kicks out a massive unwrap that doesn’t fall within the 0 to 1 uv co-ordinate space. If I use the other UV tools such as PUVTiles, it creates the uvs with the expected space.

I’ve been trying to trouble shoot what’s going wrong but no luck yet. The only work around I have is to run the UVMaster unwrap, export my OBJ and re-size + reposition the uvs in 3dsmax so they are in the proper co-ordinate space.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated - thanks

Have you tried experimenting with Control Painting? This might make a difference in the result of your UV map…I havn’t ever had the same problem you are experiencing but it’s worth a shot.

Thanks for responding Trist, the control painting works as expected but still didn’t force the unwrap into the proper space. I did however find that if I enable polygroups in UVMaster, it unwraps and packs the uvs into the 0 to 1 space :+1:

Not really sure why that helps it but it does. I also found that if I used the Extract feature under SubTools and gave the object interior polys, that some how forced UVMaster to unwrap both external and internal faces into the proper space/size.

Interesting results needless to say, but the good thing is that UVMaster is working great on all my other tests. Something must have gone wrong with the base tree Zsphere rough or the converted base mesh after making poly mesh 3d.
