UV'ing a Finished Sculpt with NO Prior UVs

Hi,

I’ve finished sculpting a Head, however I haven’t done any UVs in my 3D app as I started my sculpt with a polysphere.

How can I do the UVs without having to redo all the sculpting again?
I’m not interested on the AUV tiles, but yes exporting my already sculpted mess, from the lower subdivision Level 1 or 2, do the UVs in Max or Modo and back to Zbrush, but without having to re-sculpt everything again.
Is there anything to do with the Morph Target?
Sorry I’m half lost and would appreciate if anyone could help me out with this one.

Or will I need to do all the UVs before start any sculpting in Zbrush?

Any technique / tutorial or ways to resolve my problem?
Thank you in advanced for helping out.

yes there is an easy way…you:

  • export the lowest subdivision level
  • import them into maya/max (be sure to have “create multiple objects” turned off…in your import options, thats in maya…i’m not sure about max.)
  • uv (dont change anything else)
  • export the uv’d geometry as an obj
  • in zbrush, load up your ztool and bring it down lowest subDvsion level.
  • then “import” the uvd geometry that u did in maya/max

that should update the UV’s on your ztool.

hope this helps

Theres foreseeable problems with this method which I found that out the hard way. Depending on what prog you use for creating your uv’s, theres a slight possibility that it’ll change your cv count and screw your mesh up when you import it back into zbrush. Not sure why it does that but I currently have this problem so dont be surprised if that happens.
