UV unwrap high poly model

Hey guys first post so hope I don’t sound too much like a dork!

Created this tree ent guy as one of my first sculpts and want to UV unwrap him so I can export him as an .obj to blender for a still render (I prefer being able to place lights in 3D space rather than the zBrush way).

So the problem is that he’s about 10M poly’s which is fine, I’ve got him down to 300k with decimation master and re-projected the high poly onto him however when I go to use UV master to unwrap zBrush just locks up (or I need to wait longer than 30 minute for this to work?). I’ve also tried to zremesh him down to a similar poly count and project but still no joy.

Is there something wrong with my work flow or is this still too high a poly (I’ve managed to export 300k + models to blender without uv unwrapping mind you)? I don’t want to go to low poly for the sake of presentation.

Anyways this is what he looks like using zBrush to render. Hope one of you genius type guys can help!

We can’t see your image, but…

I think you might run into problems if you try to use UV master on a triangulated (decimated) mesh.
I think you want to zremesh before using uvmaster (you can zremesh a copy of your decimated subtool)… what was the problem when you zremeshed?

Ah yeah, I thought that might be the case with all the tri’s. I had the same problem with the re-top’d version when UV unwrapping that zbrush would just hang trying to unwrap it.

I haven’t tried zremeshing a decimated version of him, that might work I’ll have to give that a crack when I get home from work!

Here’s (I hope) a working (?) image of him:
