UV unwrap control painting problem.

Hello zbrush enthousiasts,

I’m quite new to Zbrush and i’ve attempted to sculpt a slightly more difficult character than i’m used to (a demon from metro 2033 if interested :p). I’m currently attempting to unwrap my mesh so i can start painting on it, however i’m having a lot of trouble doing this.

I’ve followed a guide about control painting and i’ve used this method to unwrap most of my models. However when using control painting this time it doesn’t seem to follow my blue ‘attrct’ colour at all. It keeps creating a giant single island for my entire mesh even though i’m cutting off all his limbs, wings, head etc.

When i try to preview the UVs by using the ‘UV Map’ tool and morphing it, it creates overlapping squares which eventually after a lot of lag creates one giant square. When previewing it through the ‘UV Master’ Zplugin it shows my uv correctly, however it’s a giant island that mostly ignored my controlpainting.

Any suggestions how to get better UV results with control painting? Or should i start using different methods like polygrouping or creating UV seams in a different program before unwrapping it in zbrush?
