UV smoothing on base mesh

Is Zbrush supposed to smooth the UVs on the base mesh when using SUV? I don’t remember it doing it before.

It’s highly annoying as no other application smooths the UVs of a base level geometry and only smooths the UVs as the geometry subdivides. (unless you want it to of course:)). This effectively means that ZBrush destroys the original (pre-Zbrush) UV layout.

Well what do you expect SUV to do ?
Read the description. It smooths the UVs if pressed ?!!!

Thanks. The assumption on my part was that it only smoothed the uvs when it gets subdivided the base remains the same. The confusion is that my renderign package displays non smoothed UV in the viewport but smooths them at rendertime when using subdivision surfaces.

I only really suffer the problem when I export an obj from ZB (already smoothed), do stuff to it, import it back and subdivide again with SUV on, which clearly is incorrect. When I say ‘I’ I mean other people :slight_smile:
