UV Seams Breaking

My problem is that when I export an OBJ or maya file from ZBrush all of the UV seams that I had previously sewn together in maya are now broken.

That is:

  1. Create a simple sphere in maya and layout UVs with all edges sewn except border edges. Save as an OBJ or maya file.
  2. Import in to ZBrush.
  3. Export OBJ or Maya file from ZBrush.
  4. Import into maya

all UVs edges are now unsewn, that is every quad now has a border edge and needs to be resewn.

Am I missing a button somewhere???

Enabling Tool > Export > Mrg (Merge UV Coords) before exporting will keep the UVs connected. The Merge UV Coords switch needs to be enabled for each tool/subtool. Unfortunately the setting does not seem to be stored with the .ztl file.
