UV seam problem...pics attached

So, I’ve got a high poly model that I have poly painted.
I want to bake the poly painting into a texture using “New From Poly Paint” but I get these really terrible seams when I use AUV or GUV. I tried PUV but it hangs…

How can I get rid of these seams? Is this a glitch with 4, 4R2, or 4R2b? I never had this problem in ZB3…

Textured with AUV…(bleh)

Textured with GUV…(bleh)

Untextured original polypaint…

Can someone please tell me what I’m doing wrong?

Thanks

ok i think i know the problem…

what you are doing is basically lowering your UV Map Border setting to ‘0’. Keep it at 2 or higher.

what this option does is paints over and in between the border of an assigned UV coordinate (i think so :P)
So basically keeping it at zero will cause the texture to create artifacts since when using AUV, Zbrush assigns planes or in simple words squares to the object and breaks the entire texture into multiple squares that represent texture values

so delete your UVs or regresh the tool and then keep the UV Map Border setting to 2 or higher… i keep it at 2 which is the default i think

Hope this helps bud!!

that definitely worked a slightly lower poly count. I think what was happening was, was that the poly count was SO high (10 ml) that there was no more pixel space left even on the highest texture setting for the texture and the border pixels it needed.

Thank You!

thats great! i have used AUV on lower res UV settings on much higher poly objects… higher than 10mil and never got these results. anyway goodluck
