UV questions

I’ve been working on a high detailed sculpture and created uv maps from the geo done in maya. I’ve got 2x2048 maps I want to import into zbrush to do some texture work but when i import the texture map it becomes warped (as shown).
My other question is if its possible to work on multiple maps at the same time,for instance I have the torso and the head on separate maps, I wouldnt want to have to keep switching between the two, unless I put it on the same map. Any suggestions?

textures inside of Zbrush need to be flipped vertically to be applied correctly.

texture>flipV (or Vflip) I don’t remember the name

And you can’t paint on two objects at the same time…that is the point of subtools.

if you already have a map you wish to change/edit you can convert the texture to polypaint on each subtool each with the correct texture applied and then merge the two objects together so you can paint on them as one. Then split them and create the two maps for each subtool.

I guess I wasn’t clear enough, I have a single subtool with 2 UV maps (not 2 subtools), heh. I ended up putting it all on one map. I tried messing around with the flipping uv options but for some reason they still don’t line up. I forgot to mention that I had a previous uv map that I imported which worked fine but oddly still on the subtool. That might be a contributing factor because I hit the “col<txr /txr> col” options and it keeps displaying the old uv map. I tried to delete the old uv map in the texture options but I think its stored on the subtool somewhere. Im trying to get the “col<txr” options to display the new map. :confused:

Well my point count on both my models are fine. I “flipped v” the new uv map on the same model and it worked fine, except I would lose all the detail I have. I checked out one of auricks threads on copying the same mesh using the “project all” feature, it worked great except I have some distortion in key areas, is there anyway of tweaking this? If I can’t get the project all function to work properly, then I’m back to where I started. Still trying to import the new uv’s back into zbrush on my detailed model,with the results I posted in this thread. I’m probably making this more complicated then it has to be… (>_>
