UV master - sizing down and positioning the layouts on the net

Hello again,

This time I’m struggling with the uv master. Here’s the thing: I’ve modeled a bunch of pieces separately (chocolate bits to be precise) since they’re each above 1 mil poly. And I’ll need to render them out in max later on. Naturally I’ll want them on a single uv layout, but it’s too much poys for my computer to append to a single subtool and unwrap from that.

So…I’ve unwrapped every one separately, and tried sizing and moving and scaling down the maps (with the uv master’s flatten turned on) so I position them correctly so that they don’t intersect with each other, and then I’d use the merge maps of the new multimap exporter for a single layout…but I found out I was unable to size/rotate/move in the flatten view, as it doesn’t save the change once I get out of it.

Bottom line: can the sizing down of each subtool map and placing them on a layout so they don’t collide be done inside Zbrush?
Am I missing something (again)?

Thank in advance.

Hi cherub… I m not sure if I understand your problem. You get to reposition the UVs but you lose that when you unflaten?
what i did was go to uvs and select planar UVs and then unflaten… or copy and then paste uvs… I only tried this once but I think it works…
