UV Master before adding IMB's or not?

Hi,

I am slightly confused about this:
I have a hi-poly model made of quite a large number of subtools of which all have up to 7 subdivs each. I am done with the polish but wish to add IM parts to it spread across. Do I lay down the UV’s at the lowest subdiv first and maybe go for the normal/displacement map route to generate those added details later? I just have to come up with a workflow because if I am to go about inserting mesh pieces, they will be part of the relative subtools and it will be a nightmare to uv those parts.

I think I am answering my own question but wish to hear it from you people, too?

One last question: do you guys use uvmaster plugin on individual subtools and then merge down or you keep the models as separate subtools and go for fbx export way out of zbrush to texture and render? I think this also sounds like an answer to my own question but, once again, I wish to hear it from more experienced guys regarding their workflow.
