Ok im very new to Zbrush, i used it years ago for a little bit at work but things have changed so much, ive got the chance to use it again but i think im having some workflow issues as theres a couple of problems im having.
Ok i have made my model from zspheres then i went to geometry and increased the sdivs to 7 and sculped away like a very happy man and had great fun and i have exactly how i want it. Now i need to render this in max so i need to create a normal map, so then i take my object which is saved a ztl i then slide down thesdiv level to 2 export that as a obj then into max unwrap collapse and export as an obj again.
This is the point i have difficulty with and cant seem to find the answer after reding the docs and spending many hours online researching, im terribly dsylexic too so maybe im jus not understanding anyway.
So as ive read im meant to open up my high rez ztl file save a morph target at the highest level then slide down the sdiv to match the uv-ed obj? then import the obj and hit switch? do i import this as a subtool into the ztl? i have tried everything at this point and cannot get it to work, when i import as a subtool the obj is like 10 percent of the size of the ztl. When i hit switch nothing happens should i be hitting switch on the obj? i cant its grayed out, i dont know how to proceed from here? what am i doing wrong?
I know its not working because when i use zmapper to creat the normal texture it just creates a blank purple texture.
thanks i hope that makes sense like i said ive spent like 20 percent of the time actually scuplting and the rest trying to figure this out.
