uv map subtools?

I dont really get this, Im new to zbrush and that might explain some…

I have sculpted a body. With a separate head as a subtool. And probably 15 more subtools like clothes and stuff.
So what I did was to export each subtool sd1 to obj, lay down the uvs in maya, and imported it back to the sculpt. Everything seems to work fine.
Then I have painted each subtool in zbrush. No problems. Then I press col-txr for the first subtool. It creates a nice texturemap. What I thought, was that I would be able to work my way down to create separate maps for each subtool. But this doesnt work.
I have searched zbc and been reading like every post that cover the topic. And it says zbrush can only handle 1 texture map. Which leads me into Subtool Master. But everything Ive tried seems to go wrong in 1 way or another. Something tells me I have worked in some kind of reverse order that makes everything more complicated than it should be.

After the uvs Im supposed to create a displacement map and normal map, so I assume I need to lay down uvs first? I just dont know how to do it on multiple subtools. As I said, Im a beginner so for a professional reading this might wonder why the heck I would try to do this or that, cause Im not really familiar with all this new stuff and I might be completely off track?

what you are doing is fine.

you have to export out each object, UV it, import each object again (to bring in the UVs)

Then texture each piece, and create your maps as needed.

If you had some images that would help to show the problem.

Thanks for the reply Goast666!

I just got home, and before posting images, I come to think of 1 thing after you told me its fine.
The body with sculpted neck is intersecting with the subtool head. Could this interfer with the UV map? Well I will try to move the head up from the body before pressing the col-txr button…see if that helps. If it not help I will post images.

Okay so I did a quick test, and it didnt work, not the way I want it to.
I have included the images.
The first is when I apply the col-txr for the body. Looks okay to me.
Second image is when I try to apply the col-txr for the head, and the body turn into black areas.
That should not happen. Right?
