Using zmodeler and "normalizing" a mesh

Hello, I am a fairly low level user of Zbrush. Mostly making simple models and modifications to models created in Rhino. So the questions I have may come off as simple but I have tried watching the videos and coming up with solutions with limited success.

  1. In Zmodeler, if you have a cube and push the center out (leaving a 2 or 3 rows for the outer edges) so there is a hole through the cube, the inner mesh’s created are one continuous length in the direction of the push. I would like the inner shells to be the same size as the outer shells.

  2. If I take a model like a thin plate and mask one half of the thickness and then using the deformation tab increase the size of the plate. The model now has elongated shells in the thickness. Is there a way to “normalize” the mesh so the aspect ratios on the thickness match the rest of the model? Tried both zremesher and dynamesh with limited success on complex models.

Any insights or things to try is much appreciated.
